Just insert a CD-R disc into the drive, and press the Play button. Lasershow Player has the same high quality playback as LD2000, and
it is easier for DJs, show operators and others to use.

The Pangolin Lasershow
Player model CD2000 gives you the exceptional laser quality of Lasershow Designer
2000,
including fast scanning (up to 130,000 pts/sec output), six color
channels, and DMX512 lighting control. Plus, you get full CD-quality
stereo audio.
There is no other laser playback device
that gives you so many features for so little money.
Unlike ADAT
tape players, which only record laser and color signals up
to about 40,000 pts/sec (40K),
and only provide three color channels, Lasershow Player provides maximum frequency response, six color channels,
DMX, and
stereo CD-quality sound. Lasershow Player also
allows you to store multiple shows on a CD, each of which can be
accessed almost instantly with the front panel controls or with
the included infrared remote control.
Since the Lasershow Player uses
LD2000's Projection Zone technology, this provides support for 30
different geometric correction settings that are instantly
accessible within each show.
The
latest version of the Lasershow
Player firmware allow you to have up to 99 shows on each CD.
Each show can have its own Frame File (.LDS), its own Palette file (.SP1) and its own Zone
file (.LDZ), or all shows can share the default Frame file, Palette file and
Zone file.
The latest version of the firmware
also supports a real time clock and the ability to automatically
load and play shows starting and ending at times that you set with
the menus. Alternatively, you can have Lasershow Player
automatically load and play the shows when power is applied. These
"Play on timer" and "Play on boot" modes can be used for
unattended playback applications.
And the latest version of the
firmware allows for full adjustment of scanning speeds, color
shift, looping modes, and geometric correction settings for 5
zones. A total of 30 zones, as well as frame- and show-level
security are all possible thanks to full compatibility with LD2OOO
version 3.52.
Support for SMPTE is now possible
using the Aquila or Pangolin's TC2000 Time Code Controller.
Lasershow Player fully
supports the security features provided by LD2000. This allows your shows to be encoded so that they will only play on specified players. If
security is enabled and your CD is
put into an unauthorized Lasershow Player, or into an
unauthorized PC, the frame file will not
load and the show will not play.
To use Lasershow Player,
shows are first
developed with any LD2000 system (Pro, Basic or Intro).
Next, the frame and
show files (.LDS and .SHS files)
and the music track(s), are burned onto a CD-R. Any standard CD-R burner can be
used -- the burning computer does not have to have an LD2000
system, or a QM2000 board.
Finally, the resulting
CD-R is put into the Lasershow Player's CD drive. The
Lasershow Player will automatically load the frame and show files
so that when the
"Play" button is pressed, the show immediately
starts.
The Lasershow Player front panel is shown
above. The buttons are normally used for standard CD functions such as PLAY, STOP,
EJECT, etc.. By pressing the "MODE"
button, the buttons are used for adjusting various output parameters, such as size, offset, geometric
correction and scan
speed. Other parameters let you loop songs or complete
shows.
Lasershow Player is so unique, people are opening new markets with it. It is ideal for any application
with unsophisticated users. If they can put in a CD disc, they can play a laser show. It also is ideal for repeated
plays since, unlike ADAT tapes, the medium doesn't wear out or require
rewinding.
Such applications include:
-
Trade shows -- play a laser show over and over, all day long.
-
Point-of-purchase displays -- present the highest quality lasers
and music.
-
Billboards -- when clients change, pop in a new CD.
-
Corporate and entertainment laser shows
-- create at your office on a computer; play
back at the site using Lasershow Player.
-
Planetariums
-- provides a simple and reliable
CD player interface.
Note that as of June, 2007, Pangolin only
has a few units left in stock. For that reason, the CD2000
is not recommended for new installations. Instead, users
should consider the
Flashback 3 Laser Controller or
QM2000.NET for new installations.
