ATI video card fix |

If you use an ATI All-in-Wonder video card, you may need to fix how it handles multimedia formats such as MP3, so these files can be played by Showtime 2000. Pangolin user Vernon Barry writes regarding his experience: I found a problem when using LD2000 version 1.32 with an ATI All-in-Wonder video card. This problem will occur on all machines and Windows 95/98/ME. It is due to the multimedia drivers that are installed for the added features such as capture and DVD playback. ProblemThe problem is that the codecs get installed into the media player and prevent playback of MP3 files within mplayer.exe (integral to Windows). This can cause severe lockups and even crashes of Windows. SolutionThe solution is easy and
does not require you to edit the registry. You must first go to the
Control Panel under the Start menu and click on the Multimedia icon.
Next, go to the Devices tab and a listing of all device categories
will be seen. Select Media Control Devices and in the list the will
be three icons named Cinemaster C MPEG Device (Media Control).
Right-click with the mouse to select properties for each Cinemaster
device and a new box will open. At the bottom of the box select
Remove and then click Yes, then OK, then click OK again. |
