Lasershow Designer can run up to four projector heads simultaneously from a single computer. One QuadMod board will be the "master", the other boards will act as "slaves". Since each board has its own processor and memory, adding extra slave boards does not slow LD down.
Usually, the slave boards are LD Intro (to keep costs down), but you can mix and match. Here are the rules for mixing and matching:

  • For playback, you can use any combination of LD versions (Pro, Basic or Intro). For example, if you want to playback using four projector heads, the lowest-cost solution is to use four LD Intro boards.

  • For recording 3 or 4 heads, at least one board must be an LD Pro. This will act as the Master board. The other boards can be any LD version (Pro, Basic or Intro).

  • For recording 2 heads, you must have an LD Basic or LD Pro acting as the Master board. The other board can be any LD version (Pro, Basic or Intro).

  • When using 3 or 4 boards (either for recording or playback), the third and fourth boards must have special chips available free from Pangolin. These chips change the boards' PC address, so that there is no conflict with the first two boards.
