The 17th Annual Pangolin User Meeting for 2008 was held September 11, 2008, within a conference room on board the Carnival Imagination cruise ship.
     The general format of the meeting was as follows:

• Discussion of the features in Pangolin software, and new products from Pangolin

• Discussion of new hardware products available from Pangolin including PASS, and a new Flashback 3 "External Edition"

• Discussion and demonstration of how to perform measurements and make projector adjustments for Safe Audience Scanning

• Presentation and judging of laser shows for the 2008 Pangolin Prize Competition

• Question and Answer session and T-shirt giveaway

Demonstration of new features and software

During this portion of the meeting, the features of the LD2000 system were discussed and demonstrated, including how to properly setup a palette for various laser systems, how to setup Projection Zones including Beam Attenuation Maps, and how to perform initial setup for audience scanning measurements.

Hardware presentation

In addition to the discussion of LD2000 features, several completely new products were shown including the Professional Audience Safety System (PASS), and a new external-box version of the Flashback 3 that we call the Flashback 3 XE.

Pangolin Prize competition

This year, we had 19 entries for the Pangolin Prize competition. This is on par with the number that we received in recent years. All entries were EXCELLENT and many were created with Lasershow Converter MAX.
