Lasershow Designer for Windows is the most
popular professional-level laser show software on Earth. This page gives you a brief
overview of the features in an LD system. For more information on a feature, click on the
picture or the red subhead.
Lasershow Designer 2000
note
This page is about Pangolin's older LD for Windows system, which uses
the ISA-bus QM32 card. Select this system if you need compatibility with
other LD for Windows users.
If you're looking for the
latest system, click here for the new LD2000
system, which uses the PCI-bus QM2000 card.

QuadMod32 laser computer card A hardware card that goes in the computer. The
QuadMod32 is a sophisticated laser-computer-on-a-board; it handles all laser
signal processing so output quality does not depend on the Windows PC's microprocessor.

Lasershow Designer frame creation software A program for creating, editing and
animating frames. This was the first software component written for LD, so it is

Showtime
show creation software A program for making the laser show.
You create effects, and sequencing those effects with frames and music. This is called Showtime;
it is the only laser show program to use a timeline editing system similar to standard

Live! cue-playing software A program for setting up and playing cues live. This is
called Live!, it runs as part of Showtime but functionally can be
considered a separate program.

Lasershow Performer console An optional hardware console called Lasershow
Performer. This duplicates the features of the Live! software, but because
it is a dedicated hardware device, it makes it easier to run shows. It also has extra
features such as built-in audio and microphone beat detection.
Note: Lasershow Performer is
not stand-alone. It must be attached to a computer running Lasershow Designer for Windows
and the Live! software.
