The 16th Annual Pangolin User Meeting was held
March 8, 2007, within the
NEO-NEON facility
in the he Guang Dong province of China. This was a
tremendous meeting, with over 50 people in attendance! The meeting
was primarily geared toward new and beginning users of LD2000, and
it centered around information covered on the Tutorial DVD -- An
Introduction To Lasershow Designer 2000. (Pictures of the meeting can be found
here.)
The general format
of the first day was as follows:
-
Introduction of Pangolin staff, and of
individuals present
-
Discussion of the features that make up the
overall Pangolin LD2000 system
-
Lunch
-
Laser presentation and discussion of laser
shows from past Pangolin Prize competitions
-
T-shirt give-away
-
Question and Answer session and "Wrap-up"
During this portion of the meeting, Pangolins
president William Benner introduced Pangolin Laser Systems and
staff
member Hayden Hale.
Meeting attendees also talked a little bit about
themselves.

Demonstration of
new features and software
During this portion of the meeting, the new
features of the LD2000 system were demonstrated, including
information on the new
QM2000.NET.
In addition to the discussion of
LD2000 features, several completely new products were shown
including a re-brandable piece of software that can be used with the
Flashback series of
laser controllers.

T-shirt give-away
Pangolin continued its tradition of providing two different
styles of T-shirts which
attendees could choose from -- our traditional raster "LD Model"
T-shirt, as well as our "Laser Show Staff" T-shirt which we had in a
prior year.
Because of the format and timing of this year's
meeting, we did not have a Pangolin Prize competition. The next
Pangolin Prize competition will be held in conjunction with the next
Pangolin User Meeting, later in 2006. Instead, we viewed and discussed some of the laser
shows from past Pangolin Prize competitions.
